What is Hyaluronic Acid Dermal fillers (HA)?
This is a naturally occurring substance in the body, it holds water, which hydrates and gives volume to the skin.
The production of hyaluronic acid diminishes as we age and injections of hyaluronic acid dermal filler restores lost volume of the improved and enhanced skin along with hydrating it.
The safety of Dermal Fillers
In 2019 over 5 million dermal filler treatments were given worldwide. Their popularity has increased every year over the last few years.
All our dermal fillers are non-animal based and are extremely safe with rare reports of side effects.
We recommend dermal fillers which last up to 1 year maximum, as more permanent fillers can lead to problems.
Is Nasolabial folds treatment painful?
Emla cream – a topical anaesthetic cream – can be applied 20 mins before the treatment .to make the procedure more comfortable.
Am I suitable for this treatment?
Dermal filler treatment is not recommended:
- If you are suffering from any kind of skin infection in, around or near the treatment area.
- If you are feeling unwell in any way, even if it is a minor illness
- Injections around the lip area that can trigger cold sores viruses. Please inform us if you are a recurrent sufferer as we can prescribe lip anti-viral treatment such as Zovirax.
- If you have previously experienced allergic reactions to any dermal filler or local anaesthetic.
- If you are pregnant or you are breastfeeding.
- If you are taking any medicines which can affect bleeding, for example aspirin, steroids, warfarin or suffer autoimmune disease.
